“You’re dripping on the floor.”

Uchiha Sasuke looked up from where he was removing his sandals into the laughing eyes of his fiancee, her lips forming an amused smile. The pinkette was languidly leaning against one of the doorposts of the living room, watching him.

“I thought you said you would be working tonight.” Sasuke commented as he returned to removing his wet sandals from his feet.

“Ino asked me to switch with her, she didn’t want to be home alone tonight.” He heard her straighten up and seconds later a pair of dainty feet entered his sight. “I didn’t mind it’s been a quite a while since we had a night to ourselves.”

He straightened and pulled Sakura towards him. As she let him he wondered how much longer the crimes of his past would hung over them as a dark cloud. Sasuke knew no matter how much he wanted it, he couldn’t change the course of history.

“I want your parents and the council to stop coming up with excuses why we can’t married.” Sasuke bit out, slightly angry at their situation. A situation created because he had been such a fool when he was younger. “I need to find a reason to retire from Anbu to become a jonin and I don’t even mind taking a genin team.”

“You teaching a genin team?” Sakura questioned with a raised eyebrow. “You will scare those poor children to death, Sasuke-kun.”

“And Kakashi didn’t do the same to us?” Sasuke replied with a smirk, which Sakura agreed with a nod of her head and burst of bright laughter. “Now shut your pretty mouth and listen, you need to lessen your workload at the hospital, you’re always pulling the graveyard shift.”

Tracing invisible patterns with her fingers against Sasuke’s breastplate, Sakura asked a question which she had been dying to ask ever since he left for his mission three months ago. “Sasuke-kun how do feel about children?”

“Huh?” Whatever the question, Sasuke hadn’t been expecting that would be it. His mind was trying to process how their conversation went from his desire to retire from Anbu to children when they weren’t even married.

Sakura had mischievous smile on her face when, Sasuke stared at her questionably. “How about we give them a reason to get married, like say give the Uchiha Clan a heir. It would also cut give a good reason to change our work schedules.”

Sasuke pulled her in his arms and spinning her around before kissing his wife-to-be like no tomorrow. When they separated be whispered against her lips. “Have I told you I love it when your acting so devious?”

Author’s Note: Written for the history prompt of the 2012 SasuSaku_Month, as my original idea became a bit too lengthy I recycled this old plot of mine and I actually quite like how it turned out.
