Her words echoed through meeting room despite the multiply ongoing conversations and discussions Tsunade barely noticed as her words’ silenced the room as all the ten eyes of the leaders’ of the Alliance turned towards her as one. But the medic ignored her fellow Kages and General Mifune in favor studying the rapports before.
“Tsunade-sama?” The female Sannin wasn’t surprised Terumī Mei wanted a explanation about her not so silent musings.
“The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, is in its loyalty to each other. Sarutobi used to tell me and my teammates that.” Tsunade replied pausing to stare at the four Kages and Mifune, her honey colored gaze sliding over them before continuing with her explanation. “And it’s exactly as he said, Taka is feared not Kabuto with his self experimentation or Edo Tensei nor Uchiha Obito who manipulate us and plugged us into this war. Only the revived Uchiha Madara is feared more then them, and that’s he is legend to the Shinobi of this day and age. Yet it is Team Take that our men have been referring the scourge of this war.”
“I have to agree with Tsunade-hime.” Ōnoki suddenly looking far older then seconds earlier, a veteran who had seen far to much war, who had been in more battles then any of them.”I find the fact my ninja have been comparing them to the Kiiroi Senkō, most disturbing.”
“Their strength does not lie in their abilities as individuals but in what makes them a team.” Tsunade answered with a soft sigh as a cloud of sentimental melancholy came over the blonde. Hazel eyes becoming vacant as thoughts of her sensei and teammates back when they were still young and foolish, memories of days long gone. “Overall the Sannin as the greatest team Konoha has ever produced but while separately we were the brightly, burning torch as a team we were a forest fire.”
“Family is a haven in a heartless world. Aside from Haruno Sakura they are all orphans. Two of the are one of last of their clans while other two are the last of their clan.”
“He who fights with monsters might take care, lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” Gaara quoted up softly as all the occupants in room knew who had spoken those words. “Haruno Sakura makes a very good point with those words. I’ve have been on the other side.
“So much of what is best in us is bound up in our love of family that it remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty.” Tsunade replied, her gaze moving over Ōnoki, Mifune, A, Mei and Gaara as spoke. “Unfortunately that also applies to Uchiha Sasuke who is loyal to his dead clan as much as he is to Taka.”
“So what do we do?”
“I don’t know.”
