Nothingness… the void.. how many artists before me have tried to portray this certain subject, either tried to describe it or create it. All of them failed, myself included although in a strange way I also succeed. From the moment we enter this world to the day we leave it, we humans are blessed and cursed with nothing. All begins and ends with zero, it is almost symbolic, the name my little brother has chosen for his revolutionary alter ego. More so because it’s insult to Britannia who calls their conquered areas and it’s native people numbers. The masked revolutionary Zero, was a disguise Lelouch created and wore to hide his identity.
Although I didn’t know it then, I was the fool, who created the masked revolutionary the ideal that would become the catalyst for the peaceful future Lelouch would give us, a man who opposed the strong and protected those without power. No, I didn’t know… that I would be the one who would make way for Britannia’s greatest enemy. I was never as good as Schneizel, Cornelia or even Lelouch but I tried, failed and in end it got me killed. The moment I ordered my man to experiment on C.C. that Immortal Witch whom’s powers barely scraped the surface off.
Unknowingly it was my paintbrush which applied that first stroke, I painted the first stroke of many on the dark canvas, which represented my brother’s soul. I was it’s first artist who painted on the formerly pure, white canvas representing Lelouch’s soul, which our father, Charles zi Britannia had darkened years ago in his throne room.
I would have never realized when I captured that woman, a immortal, it would be the first step of that fateful meeting between Lelouch and Project R. If that meeting never happened Zero would never been born.
