I now realize that I was in love with the mask not the man behind it… what a foolish teenage girl I was. When it came to Zero, I loved him naive and genuinely or the man I thought Zero was. But now know I loved an ideal, a symbol who could free Japan and the rest of the world from the Britannian Empire. I called myself his fiancée and later his wife but I never truly was. Of all the Black Knights, only two women held a special place in Zero’s heart and I was neither. No, that honor belonged to the red haired Knightmare pilot of the Guren, who was his guard and the mysterious green haired enchantress, who was his accomplice. And both of them, knew the man behind the mask.
The first time I saw Zero on live television, was when he saved my cousin, Kururugi Suzaku from being executed as a scapegoat and from that moment I knew Zero were special. And I was right, one by one the Brittanian forces fell too Zero’s miracles. And Kirihara told me he was going to contact the Black Knights, I couldn’t help it but offer my assistance, no matter how small it might be. And then during the first battle of Tokyo, I met you in person for the first time. I, who promised to be your Goddess of Victory and failed.
Then you appeared again after a year long disappearance, it was like my dream had become reality once again. And as before the Black Knights clashed with the Britannian army on the battlefield as worthy opponents. I formed Zero a harem, together with his enchantress and guard, but it was lie because you never trusted me, not the way trusted them. But when you saved my best friend, the Chinese Empress Tianzi, freed the Chinese Federation from their corrupt nobles and made me chairwoman of the newly founded United Federation of Nations, I thought perhaps you would come to trust me like you trusted them. But then my dream shattered with your death, and again by your second death when they told me who the man behind mask was. Zero was a banished prince, a prince who became Emperor too take revenge on the world that betrayed him.
And then Zero, you appeared again to slay the Demon Emperor but it wasn’t you, you wore the mask but the person behind was not the same as before yet I couldn’t help but fall in love al over again. But that man, the original Zero was gone forever, destroyed by betrayals he had to suffer. He was the man who made me grow, made me see that their was more at stake then just Japan and for that I will be forever grateful.
